I did a withdraw from an ATM in Bangkok, Thailand. How to do it.
1. Enter PIN
2. Select english
3. I withdrew from debet, you can choose credit as well.
5. Select amount
6. Select WITHOUT conversion rate
Why? because the rate is better
In my case i paid 220 TBH in fee plus rate.
I bought 7 000 TBH and I paid 2 433 sek(swedish crown), with conversion rate it would be 2 509 kr. A difference of about 3,1%. About 6 Euro, 6 USD, 6,80 GBP, 46 CNY.
Money saved
What is conversion rate
In the context of an ATM, a conversion rate is the ratio of one currency to another that determines how much local currency you will receive for your withdrawn amount. When using a foreign ATM, you will often be presented with the option of using the ATM's Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) rate or letting your own bank perform the conversion at its own rate. It is almost always more cost-effective to decline the ATM's rate and let your bank convert the currency, as the ATM rate is often worse and includes a profit margin for the ATM operator.
